Birthday wishes are in order for esteemed Mohawk-English poetess E. Pauline Johnson!
Born on March 10, 1861, E. Pauline Johnson, also known by her Mohawk stage name Tekahionwake, is recognized to this day for her extensive career as a Canadian poet and international performer.
Join us at Chiefswood National Historic Site as we mark the birthday of this literary icon on Saturday, March 29th at Chiefswood, Johnson’s birthplace and childhood home in Six Nations of the Grand River.
This is a free event featuring literary presentations by Kelly Boutsalis, Mike Chaulk, Dr. Bonnie Freeman, and Sara General.
All ages are welcome. Refreshments will be provided. Free on-site parking is available at the property.
